It has been a few months now since Climax-Scotts Jr./Sr. High School English Teacher Ms. Jennifer Wright reached out to Kevin Harvey here at Climax-Scotts Digital Network about the possibility of working together to bring knowledge of blogs and podcasting to the new High School Journalism Class. And in a relatively short time, not even a full grading period since the in-classroom collaboration began, students grades 10-12 have been able to learn and apply their learning more than either Jennifer or Kevin initially imagined.
Students have not only been hard at work putting together their very own blogs and podcasts, several have already been published here on the CSDN Website as well as through CSDN's podcast channels, social media and more. Even more content has been created, but is still in the editing and publishing process.
"The goal is not to be perfect. The goal is to work hard and be a little better every time. And we have already seen that," said Kevin.
"The growth students have shown in these last few weeks has been stellar to see. Most will never see or hear what's 'on the cutting room floor,' but to know where these kids' skills were and where they are is inspirational," added Harvey.
Going into winter break this week, there will logically be a slow or even halt to student produced content. So, to date, here are all the student creations as well as CSDN productions assisted by the students of Journalism Class.
