Prairie Historical Society's new website, prairiehistoricalsociety.org, has formally launched a full day ahead of the intended release March 21. The website is designed to showcase digitally converted items from PHS's holdings gathered over the last 40 years. There is already quite a bit to take in from the PHS Video Archives, history Climax-Scotts Community Schools Athletics, past PHS Newsletters and more.
Please keep in mind, what early site members see today is a "Day 1" version of the website. Yes, there is a good variety of items spanning different points in area history, however the online selection will only grow with time. Weekly, even bi-weekly additions will be made to the site in the immediate future as more of the archives that can be shared online are converted to an online friendly format.
Access to the archives will require a PHS Annual Membership.
Current PHS Members DO NOT need to pay additional fees online. Current members in good standing, please email admin@climaxscottsdigitalnetwork.com to request your website access.
New members will be able to sign up and pay their membership dues directly on the website.
Before today, the primary benefit of PHS Membership was receiving the bi-monthly Newsletters mailed to their homes. Now, PHS Membership offers are a far more robust variety of benefits through prairiehistoricalsociety.org.
