Today is Memorial Day, and in Climax, MI it is also the celebration of Founders Day. It is a day to remember and commemorate Military Veterans who've made the ultimate sacrifices for our freedoms and our country. It is also a day we celebrate this history and heritage of the town of Climax.
There are a number of activities throughout the day, starting early in the morning and running through the afternoon. Below is a timeline of events for the day.

7 AM - The Pancake Breakfast, presented by Climax United Methodist Church at Fellowship Hall on Maple St. in Climax.
8 AM - Climax-Scotts PTO, sponsored by Lyster Exteriors, presents a Memorial Day tradition which began 30 years ago, The Run to Climax! The fun starts at the UMC Fellowship Hall on Maple St.
8 AM - Food service begins at the Four Corners (Main and Maple) as well as at the Climax-Scotts Intermediate School building. A variety of organizations and vendors will provide food, treats and refreshments of all kinds. Climax Rotary Club continues one of the longest running traditions with their ever-popular brats, pulled pork, macaroni and more. Other food vendors on the Four Corners include Big Moe's BBQ, Sweet Eliza's Donuts, Woodin's Concessions and Cotton Candy by C-S Drama Club. The Intermediate School features Patriot Pizza and Pretzels.
8 AM - The Plant Giveaway begins at United Methodist Church
8:30 AM - The United Methodist Church Bake Sale begins.
8:30 AM - The Climax Scotts American Legion's ever-popular parade begins lining up at Climax-Scotts Junior/Senior High School
9 AM - The People Helping People Craft Show opens on the Four Corners
9 AM - Dave's Bargain's opens for business in the former Climax High School and Climax Masonic Hall.
9 AM - At the Intermediate School, the car show by Sunset Cruisers begins.
10 AM - Everyone, say it with me now, with your full chest, "THE PARADE STARTS AT 10 AM!" At the parade's conclusion, the Climax-Scotts American Legion's Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony takes place at Village Park.
11 AM - More activites begin and more vendors open. In the middle of town, the Book Sale begins at Lawrence Memorial District Library. It will be gator time with Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary. Scooters Malt Shoppe opens at Soundstage One in the historic Climax Hardware building. Kids Games begin as well as Dunk the Coach start at this time as well.
12 PM - At the Four Corners, the Cakewalk begins.
1 PM - At Prairie Home Cemetary there will be a Memorial Day service including the playing of "Taps."
2 PM - On the softball field behind the Intermediate School, a little league baseball game between the Michigan Blue Angels The Bobcats
