The following statement was received by email the morning of Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from Village of Climax President, Jim Cummings.
"3 weeks ago.....I had a very serious health scare and was told specifically to eliminate any and all stress from my life.....immediately. My wife and I discussed this at length...and I am taking steps to conform to my Doctors orders. I quickly realized how much I take things to heart and have basically spent my life running on stress. I no longer have that option. We have decided to travel more, try not to be affected by things that I cannot control, pay attention to my business.....and enjoy everything and everyone I come in contact with. My music has been the thread that has run through everything I have done, allows me to shut everything else out, and that’s just what I need right now..
It is for these reasons that I retire as your board President after the final meeting in February.....the 20th will be my last meeting. I will most certainly miss working for the people who elected me.....the Village of Climax. There are things still to be done, pitfalls to watch out for, progress and initiative to be maintained. The board will decide on my replacement, and I’m confident that it will be the right one. Of course, I will always be glad to offer any input that I can, if asked.
It’s been an honor to serve my community these past few years, and I have no intention to completely stop my love for it, or willingness to contribute. This decision was not made in haste, but it is a necessary one dictated by life. As I said in one of my songs......We’re all here just for a minute....and that’s just borrowed time.....You can’t change the things you should have done.....you can only wave goodbye.
Thank you for your support. I did my very best.
Jim Cummings"
Above all else, CSDN hopes Jim has the best of health and happiness as he retires from his Village President seat. And thank you, Jim, for your service, dedication and hard work to make the Village of Climax a truly wonderful place to call home.
